Orchid Shipping Boxes & Packaging(蘭花運輸紙箱與包裝)

Orchid Shipping Boxes & Packaging

A healthy orchid still needs careful packaging to reach the customer in good condition. ZOHO Packaging develops corrugated boxes and fitted inserts around the pot, foliage and flower spikes, rather than choosing a carton by plant height alone.

Packaging options

  • Pot-holding inserts to limit movement during handling
  • Clearance around blooms, leaves and flower spikes
  • Single-pot and multi-pot packing layouts
  • Ventilation openings reviewed alongside stacking strength

How should orchids be packed for shipping?

Start by securing the pot and containing loose growing media. Leave space around delicate blooms and check that the closed box does not press on the plant. Review temperature exposure and transit time with your carrier; packaging alone cannot control them.

Patent: US5029708A — Fresh potted plant shipping and display carton. Published: July 9, 1991. Original assignee: Nekoosa Packaging Corp. View the published patent and original drawings.

1. Flat blank and folding construction

The first drawing sheet shows the flat carton blank and a folding view. It illustrates how cuts and creases can form both a shipping carton and internal support features.

2. From shipping carton to plant display

The second sheet shows the shipping configuration and conversion into a display support for a potted plant. This is a general potted-plant example; an orchid project needs its own pot, foliage and flower-spike clearance assessment.

3. Orchid pot restraint and flower-spike support — US7007426B1

Floral product container and method of making the same. Published March 7, 2006. Original assignee: Ohlman Farm and Greenhouse. Read the published patent and original drawings.

This patent explicitly describes an orchid example. Angled receptacle walls help locate the pot, tabs contact its upper edge, and hinged supports with grooves and ties restrain plant stems. For a custom orchid project, review pot fit, support height and clearance around delicate flowers using a physical sample.

4. Ventilation across stacked floral cartons — US6595363B2

Floral shipper. Published July 22, 2003. Original assignee: Professional Package Company. Read the published patent and original drawings.

Figures 7–8 show a stacked carton arrangement with airflow paths and an alternative carton configuration. This patent concerns a floral shipping system with an inner water container; it is not an orchid-specific packing method. Its aligned openings offer a research topic for discussing airflow when orchid cartons are packed together. Ventilation placement and stacking strength must be assessed for the actual shipment.
