Mixed-SKU Food Export Packaging

Mixed-SKU Food Export Packaging & Carton Inserts

A mixed food order can contain light pouches, heavy jars and small retail boxes in the same shipment. Using one oversized carton may leave products moving inside, while separate cartons may create an awkward packing and handling process. Start by grouping the products according to their dimensions, weight and protection needs.

Mixed-SKU food cases: plan every product position. Review diagram covering map the mix, separate and support, review repeatable layouts.
Check the complete packed mix and handling route; one carton may not suit every SKU combination.

From product list to approved sample

  1. Separate unit-pack dimensions from the proposed outer-carton dimensions.
  2. Record the total weight and distribution of the intended product combination.
  3. Prepare a packing layout showing SKU, quantity and orientation in each position.
  4. Check the complete pack with representative products and the intended handling route.

Should every mixed-SKU order use the same carton?

A small family of carton sizes may be easier to manage than one carton for every combination. The right choice depends on order frequency, insert changes, packing work and shipping quotations. Compare the complete packed configuration rather than the empty carton price alone.
