2026/10/30 Custom Paper Packaging for Laboratory Consumables

ZOHO PACKAGING · LABORATORY PACKAGING

繁體中文版

Laboratory consumables are often supplied in multipacks or consolidated shipping cases. Even regularly shaped products can suffer from pressure on lids, abrasion at pouch seals or movement inside an oversized box. Planning the inner carton and master case together helps expose these issues before production.

ZOHO Packaging in Taiwan coordinates paper cartons, partitions, protective paper components and shipping cases for already packaged products. Laboratory suppliers and biotech businesses in Australia, the United States and Canada can request a design assessment based on their existing packaging and distribution requirements.

Design around the complete original pack

This service concerns outer packaging for appropriately contained or sealed products. Measure the pouch, seal edges, lid projections and labels as well as the product itself. Loose exposed consumables require a separate material and cleanliness assessment.

Put support where the product can accept it

Thin covers, rack catches and pouch seals should not automatically become load-bearing surfaces. Evaluate side or base support against the actual container design. Paper edges should not rub against sensitive seals.

For stacked layers, check how weight transfers through the entire pack. A single unit that looks stable on a bench may behave differently in a fully loaded shipping case.

Plan the unit carton and master case together

Start with the sales unit and the intended number of units per case. Allow space for dividers and practical packing clearances. Internal dimensions describe usable space; external dimensions also depend on board thickness and construction. Keep that distinction clear in drawings and quotations.

Where distributors split shipments, compare full-case and smaller-order formats. Maximum packing density is only one objective: case weight, handling, pallet layout and storage conditions also matter.

Treat cleanliness and sterile-barrier requirements separately

An ordinary corrugated case or printed carton should not be assumed suitable for cleanroom entry or claimed as a sterile barrier. Supply your receiving procedure, material restrictions and cleanliness requirements before material selection.

For products with a required sterile barrier, the outer structure should protect that barrier. ISO 11607-1 addresses packaging systems for terminally sterilised medical devices; it is not a general certification for every laboratory consumables carton.

Assess paper alternatives around the packaged product

Paper partitions, folded supports or edge protection may replace some external cushioning in suitable applications. Compare product weight, fragile features and the distribution environment before deciding. Necessary primary containers and barrier materials should remain unless a separately assessed change is approved.

Recyclability depends on the actual construction and destination collection system, including coatings, laminates, adhesives and contamination. Any environmental claim should match the materials and evidence for the supplied pack.

Make cartons easier to identify and pack

Reserve practical space for the approved product name, item code, lot information and quantity. Agree whether variable information will be applied by label, overprint or another process. Test barcode readability with the intended label stock, surface and reader.

For international supply, provide the required languages and artwork versions. We can plan the layout around that information; the product owner or responsible importer approves its content.

Evaluate the loaded package

No load rating or transport-test outcome is assumed from the appearance of a concept. If third-party testing is required, specify the method, sample arrangement and acceptance criteria so the scope and cost can be assessed.

  • Check insertion and removal with all original pouches and seals intact.
  • Pack the intended case quantity and inspect divider positions and lid pressure.
  • Trial folding, loading and sealing with the people who will perform the work.
  • Agree any required distribution or environmental assessment using the final configuration.

Request a quotation from Taiwan

Send photographs, packaged dimensions, weights, units per inner carton and units per master case. Include order quantity, print versions, delivery destination, required date and any cleanliness or barrier-protection requirements.

Tell us whether packaging will be delivered flat-packed overseas or supplied to your assembly operation in Taiwan. Compare tooling, production, assembly effort and freight scope together when choosing the specification.

Frequently asked questions

1. Can loose pipette tips go straight into a paper carton?

This proposal covers appropriately packaged products. Direct-contact suitability requires a separate assessment.

2. Can paper dividers protect microplates?

They can be assessed around suitable support areas, while avoiding fragile covers and seal surfaces.

3. Can the existing sterile pouch stay in place?

The carton can be designed around its full dimensions. Barrier integrity must be evaluated for the actual configuration.

4. Does a white carton count as cleanroom packaging?

No. Colour and appearance do not establish cleanliness performance.

5. Can different products share one shipping case?

A common case with alternative partitions may work, subject to individual fit, weight and stability checks.

6. Are paper inserts always cheaper than foam?

No. Tooling, assembly labour and protection requirements affect the total cost.

7. Can you assess an all-paper outer package?

Yes. Necessary product containers or barrier materials should not be replaced without a separately approved assessment.

8. Do export cartons need different dimensions?

Case count, handling, pallet layout and logistics constraints should inform the dimensions.

9. Can packaging testing be discussed?

Yes. Confirm the required method, sample configuration, acceptance criteria and fees as part of the project.

10. How do we obtain pricing?

Send the product specifications, quantity and destination through the official LINE account. English enquiries are welcome.
